The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Test (NIFT) is an entrance exam conducted at a national level to shortlist candidates for admission in design programmes namely, Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech). For this exam, a total of 4,517 UG and PG design seats are offered to the NIFT-qualified candidates. Eligibility Criteria

The exam conducting authority of NIFT has released the NIFT eligibility criteria for 2023 along with the official notification on the official website and the applicants appearing for the exam must check the NIFT eligibility criteria for 2023 before filling out the application form. The eligibility criteria of NIFT 2023 comprise the qualifying exam, age limit and minimum marks required for admissions.

Age Criteria

As of 1st August 2023, the candidate should be less than 24 years of age


Candidates who belong to reserved categories will get five years of relaxation.

Educational Qualification

Students should have passed the 10+2 exam from any recognized Central or State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.


OR

Students should have cleared the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.


(Students who will appear in the final year of the qualifying examination can also take NIFT 2023)

For Diploma Holders

Candidates should have obtained a 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Affidavit (duly signed) of Rs. 10 on non-judicial stamp paper

Application Process

Step 1 Registration

Candidates have to create their login ID from the official website nift.ac.in. 

Step 2 ID Password

After the successful registration, the user id and password are generated which will be sent to the registered email id

Step 3 Filling the form

The next step is to fill details in the application form of NIFT 2023 with details like personal, academic, communication and others along with the required details

Step 4 Uploading documents

The candidates must upload the relevant documents in the application form as per the required format, here are the documents required

Step 5 Make the payment

The final step is to fill the application fee of NIFT which will be done online and Applicants can pay the NIFT application fee through net banking, credit, and debit cards


The Fee for General category students is ₹2000 while those who fall under SC/ ST/ PHP categories will have to pay Rs. 1000.
