Most colleges that offer Civil Engineering courses admit students only after they appear in National or state-level engineering examinations.

For admission in the UG programme (B.Tech.), the student must appear in JEE Main after completing their +2 examination with an aggregate of a minimum of 75% in 2021, and for the PG programme(M.Tech.), they have to appear for the GATE examination which they can qualify for only after completing their UG Programme with an aggregate of 55% minimum marks. Candidates can also appear in JEE advanced, with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in their 10+2 examination

There are also various state-level exams to get into this course like KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination), and BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission.
