National Skill Development Corporation, or as many people know it NSDC, is a Non-profit public limited company incorporated on July 31, 2008, under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Finance as a Public Private Partnership model.
- The mission of NSDC:
- Upgrade skills to international standards through significant industry involvement and develop necessary frameworks for standards, curriculum, and quality assurance.
- Enhance, support, and coordinate private sector initiatives for skill development through appropriate Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models; strive for significant operational and financial involvement from the private sector.
- Play the role of a ‘market-maker’ by bringing funds, particularly in sectors where market mechanisms are ineffective or missing.
- Prioritise initiatives that can have a multiplier or catalytic effect as opposed to a one-off impact.
Role of Skill India Mission for providing digital marketing career opportunities
The Skill India Initiative was started with the vision of helping the youth of India to be skilled and secure a better livelihood. The Fees for the Digital Marketing Course are covered by the government of India under the NSDC skill India initiative.
The Skill India Initiative has partnered with, private education institutes that offer such courses to help students get better opportunities to learn. One such institute is Hrishi Computer Education which provides the core 5 NSDC skill courses and is the only one to do so in the Palghar District.
Work Description of Digital Marketing Jobs
The Digital Marketer is Responsible for maintaining a brand’s online presence and sales by working on various marketing campaigns on the Internet. Their marketing campaigns can be on various platforms such as web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising and maintain the social media presence across all digital channels. They are also required to inform the higher management about the report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns at the end of every month or quarter.

- Search engine optimization helps businesses improve their online presence and helps search engine users find answers to their relevant search queries. SEO can have a significant increase in the size of their customer base, traffic to their website, and revenue. SEO keeps changing and adapting to changes to search engine algorithms can greatly help the business
- Data analysis:
- Digital marketing involves a lot of data about website traffic, ad performance, social media post engagement, reach and keyword volume and to be a good Digital marketer one must be able to process large volumes of data and make meaningful interpretations from them.
- Organization skills:
- Digital marketers may be responsible for handling multiple social media profiles of a company, content creation for blogs, and making changes to websites. These tasks may have separate deadlines and may also require them to coordinate with several teams and require good organization skills.
Work Environment and Schedule
Working hours of a Digital Marketer are typically 40 to 45 hours per week although hours can increase during large-scale digital marketing agency and important project work. The role is largely office based with a lot of communication by phone but some might have to travel in order to visit clients.
