Introduction

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, also known as JEE main and formerly known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an Indian standardised computer-based test. It’s used for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is held by the JEE Apex Board for Admission for B.Tech, B.Arch, etc. programs in the premier technical institutes in India. These Institutes include the National Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Information Technology. The selection process is based on the rank secured by the student candidate in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam, which is conducted twice every year.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying exam:

Students should have passed the 12th class or qualifying the exam in 2020 or 2021, Candidates appearing in the 12th class or equivalent qualifying exams in 2022 can also apply for jee main exam.

Age Limit:

There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main 2022 exam and Any student who has passed the 12th class or its equivalent exam in the year 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 can apply for the entrance exam.

The Total number of attempts:

Students can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years and the entrance test is expected to be conducted in two attempts on June and July

Subjects: 

  • The applicant for B.E/B.Tech: The Student should have passed the qualifying exam with Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational subjects.
  • The Applicant for B.Arch: The Student should have passed the qualifying exam in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • The Applicant for B.Plan: Anyone planning for B.Plan should have passed the qualifying exam in Mathematics.

State of Eligibility:

Candidates are required to enter the state of eligibility during filling out the joint entrance exam Main 2022 application form

Apply after 12th

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria is usually set or declared by the National Testing Agency and is mostly kept the same for both June and July sessions. The students must have pursued at least 5 subjects with Physics and Maths as their core subjects in their qualifying examinations with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Language and one more subject of choice is required as eligibility for JEE Main.

Apply after Diploma

The student who has a Diploma can apply for JEE Main exam, however, the rank and score obtained in the exam will not be considered for admission in NITs or CFTIs.
