Aerospace CNC Machinist

Job Description

  • Work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, requirements, orthographic drawings, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters are used to plan machining (GD&T).
  • Checking stock to assess the amount available, forecasting needed stock, placing and expediting stock orders, and verifying stock receipt are all part of the stock inventory planning process.
  • Enters instructions, such as zero and reference points; sets tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculates requirements, such as basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and proves part programmes on mills and lathes
  • Installs and adjusts three- and four-jaw chucks, as well as indicating vices and tramming heads on mills and lathes, as well as tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
  • Lifts stock into position to load the feed mechanism.
  • Measures positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces to ensure that settings are correct; follows international standards.
  • Observes drilling, grooving, and cutting activities, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing; takes measurements; detects faults; troubleshoots processes; adjusts and reprogrammes controls; sharpens and replaces worn tools; follows quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following safety rules and regulations.
  • Completes preventive maintenance needs, follows manufacturer's instructions, troubleshoots issues, and calls for repairs to keep equipment in good working order.
  • Maintains work shift continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements.
  • Completes production and quality logs to document actions.
  • Participates in educational initiatives and reads technical publications to keep up to speed on job expertise.
  • Accepts responsibility for completing new and varied requests, as well as researching chances to add value to job successes.

Aerospace CNC Programmer

Job Description

  • To assemble and/or produce parts and complex assemblies, performs setup, calibration, maintenance, programming, and operation on a variety of machining equipment such as lathes, brakes, shears, grinders, drill presses, milling machines, computer numerically controlled and hydraulic presses.
  • To determine the machining operation to be performed, reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts.
  • Calculates dimensions and tolerances, as well as measuring and arranging work parts.
  • Using precise measuring devices such as callipers, gauges, and micrometres, verifies the dimensions of items for accuracy and compliance to specifications. To obtain intended performance, troubleshoots, debugs, and adjusts.
  • Adjusts and configures machine tools for machining tool operators to utilise.
  • Participates in the enhancement of cell processes on a constant basis.
  • Cross-trains in other complementing skills and obtains endorsements for those abilities as needed to satisfy production requirements.
  • As needed, switches between production assignments that require several skill endorsements to meet production requirements.
