Job Description

  • Welders are people who work with machines that utilise heat to connect metal components together. This means they work on parts and equipment for anything from aeroplanes to space shuttles in the aerospace industry. Working with metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum may be required.
  • Welders work with a variety of tools in their jobs. With the majority of them being automatic and some semi-automatic. Employers may use automated welding equipment, and welders may be required to undertake machine maintenance. Blowtorches and arc welders are the most commonly utilised tools.
  • Welding professions necessitate a high level of physicality, and workers may weld in vertical, flat, or above positions. Furthermore, according to the BLS, the professions are extremely dangerous because of frequent exposure to heat and light from the equipment employed. Welders can also work at isolated job locations high in the air. As a result, welders must be continually alert of potential hazards.
