Job Description

The following are some of the responsibilities of a Business Development Executive:
Data collection and analysis of market/client needs
Advising clients on solutions based on their criteria
Offering technological goods and services for sale
Setting sales/productivity goals and meeting them

Understanding the features and functions of various IT hardware devices
Understanding of the electronics industry, its growth and trends, as well as product consumption

Current Semiconductor Industry Situation in India

Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) have made significant investments in the Indian semiconductor industry in recent years.
Between April 2000 and September 2014, the electronics sector attracted US$ 1,403.74 million in foreign direct investment (FDI), according to data supplied by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP). During the same time period, the telecoms sector attracted FDI totaling US$ 16,628.12 million.

Indian Semiconductor Industry's Future Prospects and Current Trends

According to the latest NOVONOUS research, the semiconductor sector is expected to increase at a CAGR of 26.72 percent from US$ 10.02 billion in 2013 to US$ 52.58 billion in 2020.
According to the study, mobile devices are predicted to rise at a 33.4 percent CAGR from 2013 to 2020. From 35.4 percent in 2013 to 50.7 percent in 2020, the contribution to semiconductor revenue is predicted to increase. In addition, from 2013 to 2020, the telecommunications segment is predicted to increase at a CAGR of 26.8%, with its contribution to total revenue remaining constant at 19.7% in 2020.
Gujarat will have its first semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility at Prantij, Sabarkantha district, by late 2017. Hindustan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (HSMC) will set up the factory, which would employ over 25,000 people, including 4,000 direct employees. HSMC, in collaboration with STMicroelectronics (France/Italy) and Silterra (Malaysia), will build two manufacturing units, each with a monthly capacity of 20,000 wafers.
